There's still no spare thermal paste, mind, so be careful not to make a mess of the neat layer pre-applied to the contact plate. In terms of the raw thermal performance with the H115i Elite Capellix fans set to maximum RPM, we saw a modest 3°C improvement in CPU Delta temperature at all three frequencies compared with the H115i RGB Pro XT.

Mounting the cooler on our test bench is a little different to mounting inside a case so we can fit the fans to the radiator now using the long black screws and washers provided. As usual with the Corsair Hydro series coolers, the Elite Capellix comes equipped with Corsair ML series fans with a speed range of 400-2400RPM (120mm) or 400-2000RPM (140mm).Overall performance is great, it isn't class-leading across the board, but it is respectable on both our Intel and AMD test benches. This slight reduction in noise is very welcomed as previous Corsair coolers such as the RGB Pro XT, RGB platinum and the A500 air cooler that I reviewed in the past became quite distracting and somewhat annoying when the fans were ramped up to their maximum RPM. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. Thankfully, turning off the lighting doesn't hurt the unit's appeal either, so those wanting no lighting or only a little will find the H115i RGB ELITE a fantastic fit. Install the cooler onto compatible Intel® and AMD® motherboard sockets including LGA 1700, 1200, 115X, and 2066, plus AMD Socket AM5 and AM4.
A shame, really, as we reckon the pump would look noticeably more elegant without the visible screw heads, and as things stand, we're not sure Corsair has done enough to challenge some of the most attractive designs currently on the market. In a side by side comparison against the previous RGB Pro XT cooler, the improvement in the brightness of the Elite Capellix RGB lighting is noticeable and it looks great.
