Formed in 1970 with Roy Wood - who left in 1972 to pursue Wizzard - that was in fact the original intention with Electric Light Orchestra, to "pick up where the Beatles left off. After releasing two more albums between 1974-1977, spawning hits like 'Strange Magic', ELO released the double-LP 'Out of the Blue' in 1977, which included the singles, 'Wild West Hero', 'Mr Blue Sky' and 'Sweet Talkin' Woman', which charted at Number 6 in the UK charts. One of the band's most commercially successful singles, 'Shine A Little Love' showcased Lynne's perfect alchemy of Beatles-esque pop rock harmony that was laden with disco appeal.

The album was repackaged with new album art and re-released on 30 May 2011, once more reaching the UK top ten.
